The goal of this course is to provide essential training to workers required to recognize an emergency involving hazardous materials and respond in an aggressive role to control, contain and clean up a spill. Technicians are qualified to wear Level C, B or A protection.
Day 1
Introduction; Responder Levels; HAZWOPER Regulation Overview; Spills and Releases; Emergency Response Guidebook; Procedures for Handling Emergencies; Principles of Identification, Isolation and Evacuation
Day 2
NIOSH Pocket Guide; Toxicology; Personal Protective Equipment; Chemical Protective Clothing; Safety Management; Decon; Site Control; Controlling Emergency Level Releases
Day 3
Chemical Cleanup; Table Top Training Exercises; Hands on drills; Final Examination
Course requires successful passing of written examination. Certificate of Completion will be issued.
NOTE: Emergency Response Guidebooks are included for students to keep and are used as resources in the class.
If student is required to wear a respirator, please have student bring their medical clearance form and respirator for fit testing and hands-on demonstrations.
